When ProGroup Management was enlisted to build temporary classrooms for Kent Public School during their School Rebuilding Programme, the team was ready for the challenge. They were able to draw on their extensive experience in educational facilities management to provide much-needed support to the school during the rebuild.
At the start of the project, Kent Road Public School consisted of a staff study and breakout area, student bathrooms, 14 classrooms, administration building and a library. The task was to create a temporary facility that was much smaller but could accommodate the school’s requirements and allow normal operations to continue. The project duration was between November 2018 and the beginning of 2019. One of the project’s challenges was to relocate and reconstruct the school’s entire data and fibre network from the existing Administration building. Due to the school’s location on Kent Road ‒ a busy street in a heavily populated area ‒ there were access issues for trucks and cranes for the delivery.
As a workable solution, ProGroup Management designed and constructed a highly efficient temporary facility in a designated area of the school grounds, utilising their outstanding consultants and engineers on the job. The new area was fitted with security systems, including CCTV coverage and full fire detection and protection.
The Kent Road project would not have been successful without excellent project management, which ProGroup Management coordinated with outstanding results. They orchestrated a carefully selected team of the best project managers, contractors and building staff to deliver precisely on the brief and hand over the new temporary facilities on time and under budget.
