History of Progroup

With a legacy reaching over 20 years, ProGroup Management are the trusted authority in delivering quality solutions in facilities management, building service maintenance and minor construction services.

Originating as a consortium of three established businesses operating in the building and construction industry, Progroup has proven to be a company renowned for its extensive experience, competence and sound reputation. This success can be attributed to the professional performance of its owners, and subsequent contractual performance, in our initial contract managing the facilities maintenance and upgrading of 340 NSW Public Schools. 

Progroup’s entitlement to tender for the NSW Public Schools Facilities Maintenance contract stemmed from a high regard of its ownership held by NSW Public Works and the NSW Department of Education and Training. Our relationship with these bodies had existed for more than a decade prior to the inception of Progroup and it was based on one of trust, competence, quality, leadership, partnering and fairness.

Progroup’s DNA is and has always been based on sound solid “old school” values operating with modern day thinking, systems and procedures.

Having consolidated its position as a reliable entity in the delivery of FM services early in its life, Progroup quickly diversified to include minor construction services and became a respected service provider to numerous bodies including insurance companies, the NSW Department of Housing and Construction, The Defence Housing Authority, NSW TAFE and the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.

From our head office in Macquarie Park, supported by our other offices and warehouses in western Sydney and the Central Coast, we’ve established the necessary resources, systems and procedures to service our clients in all suburbs of Sydney, and all regions across NSW. With a 42 strong employee base maintaining over 200 contractors and 100 specialist contractors and consultants, and we are constantly growing, evolving and reaching more and more areas and clients who benefit from the services, trust and connections we forge.

We have embedded ourselves as a trusted and proven provider of facility management and general building maintenance, heritage maintenance and restoration, design and construction services. These have included heritage structures, public and private schools, TAFE and correctional centres, all of which have been occupied premises. ProGroup’s approach is attractive to clients who require a specialised service, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Our construction and project management division is also accredited with NSW Government agencies for new construction, refurbishment and fit outs.

With significant academic qualifications and over 40 years’ experience in major developments and construction projects, including developing and constructing business parks, Andrew’s knowledge and understanding of the industry is second to none. Apart from his private development projects, his clients include Sydney Markets Limited, Toyota Motor Group, Qantas and Catholic Cemeteries Board.

Don Stein AM

Director
Don is a critical asset to Progroup. His experience and contribution to the civil engineering and construction industry over more than fifty years is legendary. With numerous awards in philanthropic service and Chairperson of the Microsearch Foundation of Australia together with his work with industry and community he has been recognised by an award as a member of the Order of Australia, (AM).

Ken McCracken

Director
Ken is the Founding Director of ProGroup Management and KJM Project Management, bringing 50+ years of experience and wisdom into the commercial, industrial, government, semi government and medium density housing sectors. Ken is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Building (FAIB), and an integral part of the ProGroup family.

Peter Turner

General Manager
With over 18 years in the industry, Peter is a pillar of knowledge in general management of building maintenance and security services. He has extensive experience in facility management and construction services across industry sectors and impressive procurement skills. Prior to his management career, Peter was a decorated police officer and detective with the Queensland Police Force; so his eye for detail is very sharp!

Chris Chandler

Finance & Admin Manager
Qualified in financial accounting, Chris has worked with SMEs for over 40 years and is a certified practicing accountant. With a passion for effective management of the accounting and administration sectors of the business, he uses the language of numbers to ensure clients receive the best value for their investment.
